The European Commission has adopted the annual financing decision and work programme for the implementation of Multimedia Actions in 2025. A total of €20.9 million has been allocated for these actions.

This support is intended to increase the visibility of the Union institutions’ work, the decisions taken and the stages in the building of Europe. It is also designed to allow citizens to make full use of their right to be informed about and involved in European policies, and to contribute to a better European public sphere.

The actions will help increase the volume, quality and impact of independent reporting on EU affairs by multiple media outlets by using both traditional and new media formats (audiovisual, audio, online, etc.). They will also contribute to greater language diversity of EU reporting.

As a result, EU audiences will have better access to a wide range of quality and trusted information produced from a European perspective and, in some cases, in their preferred languages. The activities might also increase knowledge about the EU, its culture and values in non-EU countries.
